Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first album she released with the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain notoriety. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it together with Rihanna. The news was released on December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she performed together with Cozz on the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. In November, she dropped her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single as a way to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
